Today, in Math and Science, students took tests; a short multiplication test in Math and an assessment on what they could remember about the skeletal and muscular systems. Academic Pentathlon has begun looking at the art and music of World War II. This afternoon, Club de Espanol will be hosting a dance for Dia de los Muertos from 2:40-4:40 in the Multi-purpose room.
Academic Pentathlon is finished with presentations and will begin delving into the curriculum for the program. In science, our dissection is on hold indefinitely due to circumstances beyond my control. We reviewed our content knowledge using the platform Kahoot. We're adding and subtracting decimals in Mathematics. Today, page 265 was corrected and returned to students. Study hall is tomorrow, Tuesday, the 25th, after school. Students can get help with concepts with which they are struggling or work on Mathia at their own pace. There is a dance from 2:30-4:30 in the multi-purpose room on Thursday. All assignments for the first trimester are due by November 3rd.
Today, we did not get to dissect our chicken wings. :-( It will be rescheduled for another date this month. Instead, we worked on Lesson 4.2 - comparing, ordering, estimating, and rounding decimals. Page 250, number 5, the rounding table was turned in as an assignment. Academic Pentathlon finished all but one of our presentations.
Today was a minimum day and I rearranged the students in every class. It was so exciting to see 97% of my students at school today. In Mathematics, students worked on MathiaX. We're finishing up adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions. In Science, students reviewed the bones of the skeletal system (they know quite a few of them now), the function of the muscular and skeletal systems, and three major muscles of the muscular system. Academic Pentathlon (Exploratory) is finishing up their slide presentations and will begin presenting in front of the class tomorrow.
Two days at school without students is starting to feel lonely. I'm really excited to try out all the fun ideas I have gotten during our professional development days.
